Increase Measurable Happiness in the World

Troy Sadkowsky - Tuesday, July 21, 2015

This blog is to introduce Data Happy Conference 2015 a conference that aims to increase measurable happiness in the world.

The connectivity of the Internet and increasing developments in technology has created a modern environment that is highly integrated and globally widespread.  Like an evolving organism the Internet serves as the connecting veins and arteries that sparks new innovation and drives technological advancements.  The blood that is pumped through these veins and arteries is data. However, just like a biological cardiovascular system it is possible for veins and arteries to become blocked.  Large amounts of data and information overload may cause weakened vision, confusion and frustration, impaired judgement and increase difficulty to understand an issue.  When these symptoms are experienced, one could say that one is not “data happy”.

These two words "data" and "happy" are common words in modern day conversion.  The recent and ever increasing digitisation of almost every aspect of our work, rest and play brings the word "data" to the forefront of our everyday life.  However, in the case of the word "happy", this word may have been sitting at the background of conversations since humankind began to converse.  History shows that happiness has been pursued since the very first time our evolving human brains grew the capacity to perceive it.

In joining these two words, we bring the ancient to the new.  This is the essence of what the new Data Happy Conference is all about.

The conference will be an exploration of the co-evolution and the uneasy coexistence of the old and the new.

For all data and technology enthusiasts the conference aims to set the benchmark in futures thinking and actionable data science.

If knowing that this conference is coming, brings the slightest sense of happiness then this conference is most likely for you.

I implore you to check out the full details at DataHappy.Net

Talk again soon,

Troy
